Under very tough tournament level conditions at the TPC of Boston & just days before the PGA tour's Deutsche Bank Championship, Jeff Murphy, with son Justin at his side, came from behind to win the ignaugural 2007 Software Tour Championship in a full field of Palladin customers & partners. Todays competitive match featured rough that was 6-8 inches deep just
off the fairways & around the greens which made it extremely tough to
score. The players teed off from the 7000 yard TPC tees with a huge 148
rating...and the scores showed it!
Next week, the PGA tour will play a Fedex Cup playoff event at here on
similar tees during the Deutsche Bank Championship, proving to us
again just how good those guys really are!
During the final match, in one group, Mike Rozelsky blasted out fast with
a super 41 on the front nine, but was run down by Jeff Murphy on the
back nine, enabling him to win the Software Tour Championship with
48 points in the overall Final Championship Standings.
Meanwhile in the other foursome, Commissioner Morse fired a 41 on
the back nine, with pars on 7 of the final 9 holes to sneak into 2nd place
for the day & grab enough points to jump into 2nd place overall in the
Final Championship Standings.
Thanks to all of who participated this year & look forward to next year
where we will have some new courses added to the event including
Cohasset, Newport National & PIne Hills.
Finally, best wishes to our longtime friend Dick Campbell & wife
Jeanne on their permanent move away from New England and into the
deep south. Sounds like a North / South Championship Match next year!
